If you’ve seen Kerala Café, that naughty smile as Nithya Menon gets down from the bus after the Happy Journey, will be fresh in your minds. Three films old Nithya has surprised everyone with her superb acting and lucid style in Anjali Menon’s film. In fact, thanks to her and the inimitable Jagathy Sreekumar, the film is regarded by many as the best among the ten.
Nithya has earlier acted in films like Akashagopuram, Vellathooval and Angel John but none of the films were successful at the box office. She was considered for Fazil’s Moz n Cat, for the role that eventually went to Aswathy Ashok.
In Happy Journey, she has to match with Jagathy and she does just that. He plays an insurance surveyor with a roving eye and Nithya proves that not every girl will live in fear during tough situations and keep him silent until she completes the journey without any tensions. Well done Nithya, looking forward to more such smart performances from you!
