Dir: Vysakh
Cast: Unni Mukundan, Kunchacko Boban, Samvritha Sunil
THE BASICS: Vysakh has earlier directed two blockbusters, Pokkiri Raja and Seniors. The director is known for loud films with loads of color and every emotion in twice the quantity than what is required. He had announced Mallu Singh with Prithviraj in the lead but decided to replace him with Unni Mukundan, when he became busy.
THE PLOT: Ani (Kunchacko Boban) has reached Mallu Street in Punjab, in search of his absconding cousin, Hari (Unni Mukundan). He finds Harinder Singh there, but he denies that he is Hari.
THE REVIEW: Vysakh and scenarist Sethu tries to add more style to compensate for the weak premise. Kunchacko tries his hands at comedy and fails miserably. Biju Menon and Manoj K Jayan try to repeat their Seniors act but that falls flat as well. But the greatest disappointment is Unni Mukundan, who can at best be described as another Suneil Shetty in the making, with all muscles but no emotions.
Plain boring is what Mallu Singh turns out to be in the end.
