Dir: Srinath Rajendran
Cast: Dulquer Salmaan, Gouthami Nair
BASIC FACTS: Dulquer Salmaan, superstar Mammootty’s son, made his entry as a hero with Second Show. In fact it is surprising that the youngster chose a low key production when the whole industry was ready to launch him. The cast n crew of Second Show is mainly consisting of newcomers, which includes the film’s director Srinath Rajendran.
THE PLOT: Lalu (Dulquer) and his gang are involved in some shady deals, as they live in a rural town. After a while, they plan to make some quick bucks and things go out of hand as they get involved in certain big deals.
THE REVIEW: Second Show is far from perfect, no two ways about it, but even then it is a nice attempt. The film has been made with amazing sincerity and it actually belongs to Dulquer, who makes a spectacular start to his acting career. The first half could have been crispier and there are more flaws as well. But the willingness to experiment should be appreciated.
Vinu Viswalal’s script is fine and Srinath Rajendran’s direction is somewhat okay. The music by Nikhil Rajan and Aviyal is really good and the back ground score by Rex Vijayan is top notch. Pappu’s visuals could have been better. But the film belongs to Dulquer, who makes a truly memorable debut.
RATING: 2.5/5
