Dir: Kamal
Cast: Jayaram, Samvritha Sunil
THE BASICS: Director Kamal teams up with Jayaram after more than a decade in Swapna Sanchari, which has been scripted by K Gireesh Kumar. The interesting part here is that Gireesh Kumar had scripted Veruthe Oru Bharya, which rescued Jayaram’s career, after he was out of business for a while. The right mix for a smashing hit, did you say? Well, read further…
THE PLOT: Ajayachandran Nair (Jayaram) is a peon and lives in modest surroundings. He flies to the Gulf and comes back after a couple of years, fully loaded. Now he wants to show off, but none in his family is much interested, including his wife Reshmi (Samvritha Sunil) and daughter (played by Anu Emmanuel). In order to flaunt his wealth, Ajayan does some silly things and lands himself in deep trouble.
THE REVIEW: The basic plot looks superb but sadly, the film looks predictable and boring. Jayaram continues with his branded mannerisms and so does everyone else including Innocent, Samvritha Sunil, Harisree Asokan and Jagathy Sreekumar. Perhaps the weakest link here is Anu Emmanuel (Now, learn this. She is the producer’s daughter), who looks pretty good but has wooden expressions.
Kamal has done not much wonders here. Azhagappan’s visuals are good and M Jayachandran’s music is okay.
RATING: 2/5
